The Return of Gwendoline was first published by Edward Mishkin around 1965, broken into three-chapter installments and printed on photo paper. Mishkin then published it in book form and commissioned Stanton to do a watercolor painting for the cover. It features some of Stanton's best 1960s sexploitation art - and the best graphic work he did for Mishkin.
