[KHEI (Dr. George Plummer)] Rosicrucian Symbology; A Treatise wherein the Discerning Ones will find the Elements of Constructive Symbology and Certain Other Things
Title continues: A Book to Amuse the Frivolous, pique the Curious, confound the Materialist, shock the Orthodox, and give Wisdom to theUnderstanding
New York: Macoy Publishing (Imprimatur: Societas Rosicruciana in America), 1916. First Edition. Hardcover. Tall octavo. Blound in decorative beaux arte cover with raised gold embossed letters and zodiac motif. 68 pages, numerous text and photo illustrations in b&w. I have sold several first edition copies of this over the years and some (but not all) copies had two color plates bound in. There are no color plates in this volume. Several pages have check marks and brackets in red pencil. These can be erased with an art eraser if desired, though it would take some patience. Binding is sound and secure. A very good copy, and quite scarce in the first edition.
The author's name of Khei refers to Frater Khei, which was the magical name (and pseudonym) of George Winslow Plummer (1876-1944). Plummer was the co-founder and Imperator and Supreme Magus of the Societas Rosicruciana In America. The preface to this work states that the text was originally prepared as a course of preliminary instruction for Rosicrucian novices, and "to give the student an accurate understanding of the rudiments of geometrical symbology and a knowledge of those essential principles of constructing symbolical figures, which, used and applied intelligently, may furnish the means wherewith to read and interpret some of the ancient wisdom of our fathers ....
