The best way to explain this unique and sought-after volume is to just let Jake lay it out for you (from the introduction): “The book before you contains the primary Holy Book of the Aeon of Horus - The Book of the Law, otherwise called AL - in the Holy Tongue, English, in which it was written. The Book of the Law contains many prophetic passages, including one referring to the discovery of a qaballistic key to the text, i.e., a system of number and letter equivalence revealing an entirely new species of magick and mysticism for a new age of human development. This prophecy came to pass on November 23rd, 1976, and accordingly, this text is accompanied by the numerical values of words, phrases and entire passages by “English Gematria”. Besides this enumerated text, this volume also contains a reproduction of the original manuscript, since this plays an important role in the understanding of the Book. A select “Hermeneutic Index” has been included to facilitate the student’s exploration of the themes running through the text. Omitted from this book are all extended theoretical discussion and supplementary material. The Index has been limited in scope to the minimum necessary, in order that the Book should be above all a magical instrument rather than a thesis or commentary.
This copy is from the collection of Thelemic author Robert C. Stein (1931 – 2024), who wrote "The Mystery of the Letters and The Tree of Life" and other works. Stein was a Professor Emeritus of Biology in the New York State University System, whose involvement in the study and practice of Thelema spanned three decades and travels in five continents.
