Taittirya Sanhita - The Veda of the Black Yajus School, is mainly a work on the sacrificial ritual of the Indo-Aryans. Evidently it supports the existence of the elaborate sacrificial system as early as the Samhita age. It is the only work in the Samhita literature which expounds in detail the system of the new and full moon, Soma, Vajapeya, the Rajasuya, the Asvamedha and of the various Sattras. Dr. Keith translated the work (originally published in 1914) with copious critical notes and an exhaustive introduction, incorporating discussion on the age, the place, the language, the style of the text and a critical study of the ritual contained therein.
