The Chaldean Oracles are a collection of approximately 227 fragmented hexameter verses composed in the 2nd century CE, traditionally attributed to Julianus (also known as Julian the Theurgist) and his father, Julian the Chaldean. The text is a product of Hellenistic syncretism, blending Platonic philosophy with Persian, Babylonian, and Egyptian mystical elements. The Oracles are the foundational text for theurgy (ritual practices to unite with the divine), a term coined or popularized in these verses.
