Flamel here describes the Book of Abraham and its mystic contents and then describes and illustrates the meanings, both theological and Alchemical, of the Designs and Hieroglyphics. He believed these designs were capable of Revealing and Reveiling the Secrets of Transmutation. After a brief chapter concerning religious thoughts Flamel allocates the remaining chapters to the "Mastery of Hermes" resulting in an authentic Alchemical Treatise. He insists that unless we know the First Principle or Agent, his book is useless because it only concerns the processes to be applied when the Prima Materia is known. Descriptions follow of the furnace for the purpose of applying heat to the Philosophical Egg, the Two Dragons - the male and female sperms (sulphur and mercury), the union of the two sexes, or seed, the symbolism of decapitation, how the material changes its color to green plus a dissertation on the tripartite nature of the stone; how the Red must be obtained, how the quintessence is obtained, how the full perfection of the Stone comes into being, and more.
