[LEVI, Eliphas] Transcendental Magic: It's Doctrine and Ritual (1962)
[LEVI, Eliphas] Transcendental Magic: It's Doctrine and Ritual (1962)
Translated, annotated and introduced by Arthur Edward Waite
London: Rider & Company, 1962. Reprint. Hardcover. Octavo. 438pp. Black cloth with gilt spine titles. Frontispiece photo. Black and white illustrations. Slight spine lean, two pages of table of contents are loose and could easily be repaired (all pages present), very light wear to jacket. A very good copy in like jacket.
This is often considered to be Levi's finest work. Originally issued in French with the title: ‘Dogme et Ritual de la Haute Magien’ in 1856, the book is divided into two parts; the first covers Doctrine (theory), the second Ritual (practice). The work covers almost every aspect of Ritual Magic. Waite also provides a biographical preface. This is a classic work of occult literature.
