Printed on pulp-like paper. With over 500 illustrations in b&w. A bit of creasing to covers, one small tape repair to front cover at foredge. Consistent age toning to paper. A bit of light horizontal creasing to some pages. Otherwise a very good or better copy. Quite uncommon in the first printing. There is only one other copy currently available in the marketplace which is in worse condition and priced considerably higher than the one being offered here.
A huge collection of articles, essays, and more from older zine-style environmental newsletters and publications, and other sources. Many of the ideas presented here were considered to be fringe at the time, however, a number of these ideas are now commonplace, with many still waiting to be utilized. The book has been referred to by environmentalists as being a foundational text for the "back to the land" movement. The work is divided into three main sections: PArt One: Technology; Part Two: Building a Network; Part Three: Philosophy. At the end of the volume is a "Special Annex" which consists of an Alternate Sources of Energy Bibliography. The amount of information in this book is staggering to say the least, and to prevent an extremely long description, I have included photographs of the contents pages which spells it all out.
