Frater Albertus' classic work which is considered a major contribution to the study of Alchemy. The author defines Alchemy as "the raising of vibrations". Regardie states in his preface that "Not only was the alchemist to be concerned with the purification of metals and the elimination of sickness and disease from the human race, but he affirmed that Alchemy as Science and Art provided both a means to synthesize all the other sciences and a training of the intellectual and spiritual faculties." The reader is cautioned that this book is not intended for the merely curious, for whom it will be interesting at best. But for the dedicated student willing to devote himself to the arduos life-time work demanded by Alchemy, it is, in Dr. Regardie's words, "worth its weight in gold."
