One of the great 20th century works on mythology and religion. Probably the most exhaustive and complete account of Zeus ever written. Cook focusses on Zeus's connection with the sky (bright and dark) and atmospheric phenomena, plus his cults, monuments and temples, worship and so much more. A third volume was published separately which concentrated on Zeus's relationship to earthquakes and other earthly phenomenon. It is not included here.
