Punk Planet was a Chicago-based independent punk zine and magazine founded by Dan Sinker in May 1994 and published until July 2007. It was most notable for treating punk as a broad subculture and political ideology rather than just a music genre. Each issue featured interviews and articles and distinguished itself by covering progressive issues such as feminism, labor rights, and media criticism, alongside its extensive music coverage. It aimed to be more inclusive than competitors like Maximum Rock and Roll, reviewing nearly all independent records regardless of style, which resulted in a review section often exceeding 30 pages per issue.
