Publisher’s deluxe full red morocco binding with gilt borders and highly stylized gilt masonic imagery to front and back of all volumes. Bevelled edges. Spines with 5 raised bands with elaborate gilt tooling and titles. All edges gilt. Gilt inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers. 504, 502, 502 pages. With 49 steel engraved plates, including a frontispiece to each volume (all present). Some light scuffing and rubbing to leather with a bit of edge wear. Very light foxing, mainly to preliminaries. Former owner’s signature to preliminary page of volume 3 (David Evans Jones) bindings are strong and secure. A stunningly beautiful set in very good to near fine condition.
