One of the great 20th century works on mythology and religion. It is the most exhaustive and complete account of Zeus ever written. Cook focusses on Zeus's connection with the sky (bright and dark) and atmospheric phenomena, plus his cults, monuments and temples, worship and so much more. With over 3000 pages (with detailed notes), more than 175 full page plates, and over 2500 illustrations, it would seem impossible to find a more thorough account.
