An exhaustive account of the gods and goddesses of Hinduism. Daniélou gives a complete description of every major Hindu divinity in terms of his or her function, myths, and symbolism. He also details the minor gods and genii. There are extensive sections on the gods of the Vedas, the Great Trinity (Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva), Shakti and the great goddesses, plus a detailed discussion of Hindu magic and the theories behind Mantra and Yahtra. There is even extensive coverage of ritual, and the manner in which the gods must be worshiped. It is by far one of the most detailed accounts of the esoteric side of Hinduism.
